Vacant positions as Migration Assistants

The Embassy of Sweden in Abuja welcomes applications for the positions of:

Migration Assistant – temporary employment for 5,5 months

Start Date: April 13th, 2026, or by agreement

End Date: September 30th, 2026

Competence and working experience

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law or Social Sciences
  • Excellent knowledge in English. Knowledge of French is an advantage
  • Very good communication skills, both written and verbally
  • Very good IT-knowledge in Microsoft Office and other web-based programs

Merit:

  • Working experience from official authorities such as migration, visa section and administrative section in a foreign office
  • Working experience from reception and customer services, both from public 
    and private sector

Tasks

  • Receiving, reviewing and registering applications regarding residence and work permits
  • Conducting Interviews with applicants
  • Responding to general questions on migration issues from individuals and national authorities
  • Responding to general questions from the Swedish Migration Authorities and others
  • Handing out issued visas, passports and residence permit cards
  • Filing and archiving
  • Flexible to do other tasks when required

As a migration assistant you will be working closely together with other colleagues and we therefore value candidates with integrity, organization skills, attentiveness and a high capability of working together in a team. Other valuable qualities of a migration assistant are to be communicative, meticulous and eager to show initiative.

Conditions of employment

Employment offers are subject to successful clearance of pre-employment checks. No accommodation or relocation expenses are payable in connection with this position. You must be a citizen of Nigeria or have a valid work permit (CERPAK) in Nigeria in order to apply.
