Embassy of Sweden in The Hague

The Embassy of Sweden in The Hague represents Sweden in the Netherlands and to the multilaterla organisations in The Hague such as the OPCW and ICC. The first Swedish ambassador to the Netherlands was appointed in 1614, making it the first Swedish Embassy abroad. The role of the Embassy is to monitor, represent and promote Swedish interests in the Netherlands and within the international organizations. We also provide services to Swedish authorities, companies, organizations and individual citizens.

Bilateral relations between Sweden and the Netherlands are strong. The Netherlands is one of Sweden’s prime trade partners and many Swedish companies are present. Bilateral cooperation focus on innovation, sustainable green transition and security. These priorities are firmly based in the promotion of democracy, rule of law, human rights, diversity and equality. The Embassy works closely together in Team Sweden with Business Sweden, the Swedish Chamber of Commerce and Visit Sweden.
