Information about Schengen visas

The Embassy of Sweden in Washington D.C. accepts applications for Schengen visas to Sweden in the United States, Bolivia, Canada, Chile, Colombia and Ecuador.

In addition to applicants residing in the above mentioned countries, the Embassy also process Schengen visa applications for individuals requiring Schengen visas that reside in Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Venezuela.

Sweden has a global framework agreement with an external service provider, VFS Global, that accepts applications for Schengen visas on behalf of the Embassy. VFS Global accepts Schengen visa applications on behalf of the Embassy of Sweden in Washington D.C. in below countries.

In some locations, Sweden also represents other Schengen member states for the processing of visa applications where the main destination of travel is one of those countries.
