Trade between Sweden and China has increased for a long series of years. Approximately 10,000 Swedish companies conduct this trade and just over 600 Swedish or Sweden-related companies have operations in place in China. The country is Sweden's largest trading partner in Asia.
Almost half of Swedish exports of goods to China is constituted of various types of engineering products, one-fifth of medical and pharmaceutical products and one-tenth of raw materials such as wood, paper raw materials and iron ore.
Engineering products account also for almost half of imports from China, clothing for one tenth.
The value of trade in services between the two countries corresponds to about one-fifth of the total value of trade in goods.

Sweden has diplomatic relations with almost all states in the world, with embassies and consulates in around half of these. Sweden's foreign representation consists of approximately 100 missions abroad and 350 honorary consulates.
