Fees and payment methods

If you are visiting the Embassy of Sweden in Canberra or the Honorary Consulates of Sweden in Australia, you may need to pay a fee in connection with your visit depending on your matter.

All fees are payable in local currency (AUD).

Acceptable payment methods

Please note that only certain payment methods are accepted. What applies may vary depending on if you are visiting the Embassy or an Honorary Consulate. Please check in advance what applies for the place you are visiting to make sure that your payment can be completed.

At the Embassy of Sweden in Canberra, payment is accepted by bank card (Visa or Mastercard only). You must bring a physical bank card which must be issued in your name (you who are paying). The Embassy does not accept contactless payment methods, such as PayWave and mobile phone payments. Cash payments can only be accepted if the exact amount is provided.

Fees for different types of matters and services at Swedish missions abroad are regulated by the Swedish Fees Ordinance. Amounts in local currency are updated regularly based on the exchange rate determined by the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs (MFA).
